On the morning of December 2, the “2025 Portuguese-speaking Countries Sci-Tech Enterprises Visit to the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Delegation,” organized by the Macao Economic and Technology Development Bureau, hosted by the China-Portugal Sci-Tech Exchange and Cooperation Center in the Hengqin Guangdong-Macao Deep Cooperation Zone, co-organized by the Zhuhai Municipal Sci-Tech Innovation Bureau, and supported by the Macao Youth Entrepreneurship Incubation Center, conducted a research visit to the China-LAC Technology Transfer Center. Over 40 representatives from Portuguese-speaking countries including Portugal and Brazil—encompassing tech startups, universities, and institutions—engaged in in-depth discussions with Chinese science and technology cooperation platform representatives on innovation, industrial alignment, and collaboration, exploring new avenues for international economic, trade, and technological cooperation.
Event Venue
To further strengthen friendly exchanges between China and Latin America as well as China and Portuguese-speaking countries, and to effectively serve national diplomatic and technological innovation initiatives, the China-Portuguese Speaking Countries Science, Technology, and Economic Exchange Conference was simultaneously held in Dongguan, Guangdong. The conference was hosted by the China-LAC Technology Transfer Center and the Guangdong Provincial Association for China-LAC Technology Cooperation (in preparation), with co-organization by the Latin American Innovation Center of Dongguan University of Technology.
During the event, delegation members toured the exhibition hall of the China-LAC Technology Transfer Center. They received briefings on the center's achievements in promoting technology transfer between China and Latin America, fostering industry-academia-research collaboration, and its recruitment initiatives targeting Latin American regions. In-depth discussions were held on science and technology trade, economic cooperation, and talent development. These exchanges strengthened connections with innovation entities in Portuguese-speaking countries, laying a solid foundation for further integration with industrial resources in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and advancing the two-way conversion of technological achievements.

The “2025 Portuguese-Speaking Countries Sci-Tech Enterprises Visit to the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Delegation” commenced its eight-day itinerary on November 30. During this period, Brazilian and Portuguese sci-tech teams conducted field visits to Macao, Zhuhai, Shenzhen, and Dongguan to gain firsthand experience of the Greater Bay Area's innovation ecosystem and explore new advantages and opportunities for China-Portugal collaboration.
In recent years, the China-LAC Technology Transfer Center has actively served as a bridge for international scientific cooperation. Through specialized matchmaking events and organized bilateral research visits, it has continuously expanded practical collaboration with Portuguese-speaking countries in science and technology, talent development, and project implementation. Moving forward, under the guidance of the Guangdong Provincial Department of Science and Technology, the Center will deepen innovative collaboration with the China-Portugal Science and Technology Exchange and Cooperation Center. Leveraging the open and innovative strengths of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, it will focus on technology transfer to advance coordinated development between China-LAC and China-Portugal, explore multi-level cooperation opportunities, and provide robust support for building a globally competitive open innovation ecosystem for the nation.
