To deepen the development of the China-LAC International Intellectual Property Services Center and strengthen the legal support system for China-LAC scientific and technological cooperation, the China-LAC Technology Transfer Center (CLTTC) held a symposium with a delegation from the Mscau University of Science and Technology on November 20. Both sides explored new pathways for cooperation, focusing on optimizing the legal mechanisms for China-LAC collaboration and cultivating legal professionals. Representatives attending the meeting included Yi Zaicheng, Assistant Dean of the Faculty of Law at the University of Macau; Luo Zhaojing, Deputy Dean of the School of Law and Sociology at Dongguan University of Technology; and Chen Baiman, Executive Director of the CLTTC.

During the meeting, Chen Baiman stated that the CLTTC, grounded in the needs of China-LAC sci-tech cooperation, is accelerating the construction of a physical platform for intellectual property services. Leveraging the foundation of an ecosystem integrating "research, education, business, and law," the Center continuously enhances its capabilities in intellectual property protection and services. Yi Zaicheng proposed leveraging the platform advantages of all participating parties to jointly establish a legal research base, promoting mutual learning, exchange, and sharing of legal knowledge. Luo Zhaojing introduced the university's Juris Doctor program and specialized training plans, which aim to cultivate interdisciplinary legal talents to provide legal support and intellectual backing for China-LAC cooperation.

Conference Venue

After thorough discussions, the representatives unanimously agreed that promoting the integration of intellectual property protection and legal education resources is a crucial path for advancing high-quality China-LAC cooperation. The three parties will prioritize internationalization efforts, implementing a combined approach of "platform co-construction and talent collaboration". Firstly, jointly building the China-LAC International Intellectual Property Services Center to create a comprehensive platform integrating legal consultation, achievement transformation, and cross-border rights protection; Secondly, strengthening educational cooperation by jointly applying for foreign-related legal talent joint training programs and exploring new mechanisms for industry-academia-research collaboration; Thirdly, establishing a legal research base focused on cutting-edge areas such as intellectual property and cross-border trade to drive policy research and practical innovation.

Site Visit

Through this meeting, the CLTTC, Mscau University of Scinence and Technology, and Dongguan University of Technology further solidified their collaborative bridge. They will enhance cooperation in areas such as joint platform development and co-organized training programs in the future, continuously explore potential collaborative spaces, contribute to elevating the level of China-LAC sci-tech and educational cooperation, and jointly compose a new chapter of win-win development.
