In June this year, the China-LAC Technology Transfer Center attended the Fifth Meeting of the China-Uruguay Intergovernmental Joint Commission on Science and Technology Cooperation, where it signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Universidad Tecnológica del Uruguay. To further consolidate the foundation for cooperation and enhance its effectiveness, on the afternoon of November 5, Valeria Larnaudie, President of the Universidad Tecnológica del Uruguay, and Belén González, Director of the Global Center, visited the China-LAC Technology Transfer Center. The two sides focused their discussions on the field of education, providing solid support for closer and more friendly cooperation. Representatives including Chen Baiman, Executive Director of the China-LAC Technology Transfer Center, and Zhang Fanjing, Director of the Office, attended the meeting.

During the meeting, Zhang Fanjing stated that education serves as a vital driving force for promoting scientific and technological innovation. To this end, the China-LAC Technology Transfer Center, in collaboration with universities from both regions, has launched the China-LAC Digital Education University Alliance. This initiative aims to establish a globally influential public service platform for digital education, providing talent resources and intellectual support for scientific and technological innovation between China and Latin America.

Participants engaged in in-depth discussions on expanding cooperation pathways in education, reaching consensus on strengthening practical collaboration through the Alliance. Both sides agreed to enhance cooperation in areas such as interdisciplinary talent cultivation and digital course sharing, jointly building an international, high-level talent development system.

In the future, the China-LAC Technology Transfer Center and the Universidad Tecnológica del Uruguay will actively maintain open channels of communication and exchange. Leveraging the platform advantages of the China-LAC Digital Education University Alliance, they will seek more points of convergence and leverage in educational cooperation. They will continuously refine a bilateral cooperation mechanism characterized by innovation, mutual benefit, collaboration, and mutual trust, thereby injecting new momentum into building a China-LAC education ecosystem and resource exchange network.
