To further tell the stories of China-LAC science and technology cooperation and boost China’s global communication influence, on April 22, Zhou Mei, Executive Chief Director of Guangdong TV’s Silk Road Parlor, and Li Huilan, Reporter from the Dongguan Bureau of Guangdong Radio and Television, visited the China-LAC Technology Transfer Center for cooperation talks with Chen Baiman, Director of the China-LAC Technology Transfer Center, Wu Leping, Publicity Director of the China-LAC Technology Transfer Center, and other representatives. The two sides had in-depth exchanges on topics including international communication, resource linkage, and brand building, and reached multiple cooperation consensuses.

During the discussion, Chen Baiman stated that as a national-level platform for science and technology cooperation with Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC), the China-LAC Technology Transfer Center, relying on its innovative operation mechanism, three-dimensional science and technology cooperation system, and networked layout of overseas sub-centers, has continuously promoted in-depth cooperation between China and LAC in fields such as science, technology, and culture. During The First Latin America Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Program and Innovation Tour in China for Latin American Young Scientists, the Center deeply explored vivid stories of China-LAC people-to-people and cultural exchanges, presented China’s scientific and technological development and cooperation achievements in the form of micro-documentaries, and laid a solid public foundation for strengthening China-LAC cooperation.

The media representatives introduced the creative plan for the fifth season of Silk Road Parlor and the development of Guangdong Radio and Television’s international communication channels, noting that Guangdong Radio and Television has a mature overseas new media matrix that can provide diversified international communication support for China-LAC cooperation stories. After in-depth discussions, the two sides confirmed that they will focus on high-quality cooperation topics in the LAC region, jointly produce special video content, and showcase the achievements of China-LAC scientific and technological exchanges and people-to-people connectivity through true and vivid stories. Meanwhile, the two sides will also strengthen cooperation in sharing news materials and activity information, media platform promotion, and the development of LAC-related think tanks, so as to achieve complementary advantages and win-win results.
