On the afternoon of February 9, an investigation team from the Journal Editorial Department of the Guangdong Science and Technology Cooperation Center visited the Latin America Research Institute of the CLTTC. Both sides engaged in in-depth and pragmatic discussions on topics including academic governance mechanisms, management of open research projects, and the development of science and technology platforms. The exchange provided intellectual support for sharing experiences and aligning ideas in cross-regional sci-tech innovation cooperation. Representatives attending the event included Su Lina, Head of the Journal Editorial Department of the Guangdong Science and Technology Cooperation Center, Yu Jianyi, Deputy Head of the Department, and Chen Baiman, Director of the China-LAC Technology Transfer Center (CLTTC).

During the symposium, Chen Baiman stated that as a key platform for implementing the Science and Technology Innovation Action Plan under the Belt and Road Initiative and advancing the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area International Science and Technology Innovation Center, the CLTTC has consistently maintained an open, inclusive, and collaborative cooperative stance. It is dedicated to building a science and technology cooperation ecosystem guided by policies, coordinated by mechanisms, and sharing resources, providing a theoretical foundation for constructing a China-Latin America science and technology innovation community, particularly in areas such as country-specific policy research.
During the visit, the investigation team focused on understanding the operational mechanisms of the Latin America Research Institute of the CLTTC regarding the organizational structure, division of responsibilities, and scientific decision-making processes of its Academic Committee and Expert Committee. Discussions also extended to the establishment procedures and review standards for academic journals. Furthermore, both parties concentrated on practical aspects such as attracting social capital through market-oriented mechanisms to participate in platform development and sustainable operations. They shared practical experiences and insights, broadening new ideas for high-quality cooperation through the exchange.
The CLTTC will take this investigation visit as an opportunity to continue gathering collaborative forces from the science and technology innovation sector, including the Journal Editorial Department of the Guangdong Science and Technology Cooperation Center. Together, they will explore new models and pathways for the efficient operation of science and technology cooperation platforms, jointly contributing momentum to building an open, inclusive, and mutually beneficial international science and technology cooperation ecosystem.
