China-LAC Technology Transfer Center Representatives were invited to attend the 2025 International Forum on Agriculture Innovation and Sustainability

From 7 to 9 December, the " 2025 International Forum on Agriculture Innovation and Sustainability and the Second China-LAC Sustainable Food Innovation Forum" was held in Sanya, Hainan. Guided by the Department of Science and Technology of Hainan Province and hosted by the Yazhou Bay National Laboratory, the forum was attended by Zhuang Jia, Deputy Director-General of the Department of International Cooperation of the Ministry of Science and Technology, Li Jiayang, Director of the Yazhou Bay National Laboratory, as well as agricultural experts and scholars from over 20 countries. Yao Fang, Deputy Director of Office Administration of the China-LAC Technology Transfer Center, was invited to participate.

The forum featured discussions on four key themes: germplasm resources, basic research, technological innovation, and market application. During the event, Zhuang Jia emphasized that the Ministry of Science and Technology had launched the new-phase "China-LAC Science and Technology Partnership Plan," which will prioritize support for Sino-Latin American research projects, personnel exchanges, and platform development in the agricultural sector.

The signing of a cooperation agreement

Concurrently, the Yazhou Bay National Laboratory signed cooperation agreements with agricultural institutions from Latin American countries such as Colombia and Peru.

Leveraging the platform of this forum, the China-LAC Technology Transfer Center engaged in discussions with Latin American institutions and universities, further exploring directions for technology transfer and cross-border collaboration in the field of food sustainability. In the future, the Center will continue to integrate resources from all parties, deepen Sino-Latin American collaboration in agricultural science and technology, and provide practical support for scientific and technological cooperation in the food sector between the two sides.
