From May 15 to 16, the 16th China Youth Forum on Latin American Studies and the Academic Symposium on "China-Latin America Relations Under the New Situation: Opportunities and Challenges" will be held at Dongguan University of Technology (Songshan Lake Campus). The forum is hosted by the Chinese Association of Latin American Studies and the Chinese Society for Latin American History Studies, and organized by Dongguan University of Technology and the Latin America Research Institute of the CLTTC.

As a representative youth academic brand event in the field of Latin American studies in China, the China Youth Forum on Latin American Studies has long been committed to promoting the development of an academic community for Latin American studies in China, fostering the cultivation of young scholars, and facilitating interdisciplinary exchanges. This edition of the forum will bring together experts, scholars, and young researchers from over 40 universities and research institutions across the country, including the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, the Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences, Nankai University, and Northwest University. They will engage in academic discussions on key issues such as "Tangluoism" and China-LAC cooperation, the "Belt and Road" Initiative and the China-LAC community with a shared future, and Latin American strategies amidst major-power rivalries. The forum will explore the development of China-LAC relations under the new situation, showcasing the diverse perspectives and academic vitality of current Latin American studies in China, and empowering the construction of a China-LAC community with a shared future through intellectual contributions.

the Latin America Research Institute of the CLTTC (hereinafter referred to as "the Institute") is a core think tank platform within the overall framework of the China-LAC Technology Transfer Center. As an important research and consulting platform focusing on the Latin American region in China, the Institute concentrates on Latin American countries' science and technology policies, industrial development trends, and pathways for China-LAC scientific and technological cooperation.
