To deepen China-LAC science, education, and innovation cooperation, facilitate cross-border technology transfer and the cultivation of international talent, and strengthen the foundation of connectivity in science and education between China and Latin America, on December 30, the China-LAC Technology Transfer Center, the State University of the Santa Elena Peninsula (UPSE) in Ecuador, and Beijing Wenhua Online Education Technology Co., Ltd. (referred to as “Beijing Wenhua Online”) signed a software and hardware system cooperation agreement for a smart classroom project. This agreement promotes the deployment of Chinese smart education technology in Ecuador, achieving two-way empowerment through "soft connectivity" and "hard collaboration" in the field of science and education.

This collaboration embodies the principles of integrating science with education and technology going global, culminating in the signing of two subscription contracts for smart classroom software and hardware systems. According to the agreement, Beijing Wenhua Online will provide UPSE with the UCLASS interactive smart classroom system service. Supported by Huawei’s public cloud at its Chile site in Latin America, the SaaS software will be deployed and combined with localized hardware system setup to create standardized, intelligent teaching and application scenarios for UPSE.

Leveraging the international platform advantages of the China-LAC Technology Transfer Center, this project integrates high-quality domestic educational technology enterprises and Latin American university resources. It not only supports the digital upgrade of higher education in Ecuador but also serves as an important bridge for the transfer of educational technology achievements and joint talent cultivation between China and Latin America. Looking ahead, the China-LAC Technology Transfer Center will continue to focus on technology transfer and scientific and technological cooperation as its main priorities, steadily improving the cross-border technology transfer system, deepening multi-level and normalized practical cooperation in science and education, and continuously enabling the high-quality development of the China-LAC science and education industry.
