From December 4 to 6, the 20th International Conference on Science, Education and Technology Policy, themed “Empowering Paradigm Shift in Engineering Education through Artificial Intelligence,” was held in Zhejiang, hosted by Zhejiang University. Experts and scholars from the global science and education community engaged in in-depth discussions on the transformation pathways of engineering education in the AI era, innovations in digital teaching, and mechanisms for international collaboration. Huang Qiongli, Project Director, China-LAC Technology Transfer Center, was invited to attend and delivered a keynote speech at the International Alliance of Engineering Education for the Belt and Road.

Conference Venue

Huang Qiongli stated that against the backdrop of artificial intelligence driving educational transformation, the China-LAC Technology Transfer Center is actively exploring new models for smart education. By jointly launching the China-LAC Digital Education University Alliance with higher education institutions from both regions, the center focuses on collaborative talent development and digital capacity building. It aims to establish an open, shared, and collaborative international digital education platform. Through initiatives such as co-building digital education benchmarks, constructing international smart classrooms, and training international technology transfer brokers, the center will support the high-quality development of smart education in China and Latin America.

Huang Qiongli's Remarks

This participation not only enhanced the visibility of the China-LAC Technology Transfer Center on the international science and education platform but also provided a significant opportunity to deepen cooperation within the university alliance. The Center will effectively translate the outcomes of this event into developmental momentum by optimizing mechanisms and implementing projects, thereby continuously promoting resource sharing and complementary strengths. This will contribute greater efforts toward building a more open and inclusive educational cooperation ecosystem.

It is reported that in January 2026, the Center will launch the “The First Latin American Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Program and the Innovation Tour in China for Latin American Young Scientists” across five cities—Zhuhai, Beijing, Chengdu, Shenzhen, and Dongguan. This initiative aims to advance the implementation and application of intelligent education technologies, deepen collaborative talent development and technology transfer partnerships, and lay a solid foundation for the sustained development of China-LAC science and technology cooperation.
